sCONVEY control

The sCONVEY control is equipped with expandable IO nodes. They are suitable for controlling all conveying components and are easy to install. Each IO node acts as a switching point for the network connection and can be freely deployed and configured according to the site conditions of the system. The complete decentralised control system is based on an Ethernet connection for flexible use and expansion of the conveying system.

The sCONVEY control can control a wide range of conveying components:

• 60 material loaders on drying bins
• 160 material loaders on processing machines
• 9 line blowers
• 3 standby blowers
• 60 purging valves under the drying bin
• 120 independent purging valves
• 180 regrind material source
• 12 alarm lights with horn

The sCONVEY control uses Ethernet as the network technology and offers a wide range of internationally available interfaces. This significantly reduces the cost and effort of networking. Digitisation can be introduced into the system without additional investment.

The main controller of the sCONVEY control is equipped as standard with a high-resolution 7" full colour touch screen display. The intuitive user interface allows easy access to the status of all conveyor components and the setting of equipment parameters. Data is visualised and can be synchronised with SCADA/MES/ERP platforms.

The sCONVEY control supports the user in the management and reutilisation of regrind. The material loader selects several sources for regrind, conveys and automatically switches between the sources. Manual sorting and distribution of regrind is not necessary, saving labour time and reducing the risk of mixing materials.

A fully automatic solution for conveying, mixing and drying is realised by the possible installation of an sCOLOR V dosing and mixing unit on an sDRYBIN A drying bin.

The sCONVEY control uses Siemens S7 PLCs as its platform. The PLC is easy to operate and easily scalable. The control system automatically assigns IP addresses based on device names. Manual configuration of the IO nodes is not necessary, which facilitates the installation of large, distributed control systems. This feature also contributes to the performance and reliability of the sCONVEY control system.

All system functions can be realised via a standard node. This reduces the variety of spare parts.

Multiple operator panels can be integrated into the system via a network connection. In this way, the conveying system can be accessed from anywhere in the factory.
